In the movie The Ghost and the Darkness (1996), Sir Robert Beaumont faces delays in constructing a railroad in Africa. To address this, he hires the renowned engineer John Henry Patterson to rectify the situation. At first, the project appears to be running smoothly, but their progress is halted abruptly when the crew discovers the grisly murder of the foreman, apparently executed by a lion.

As the attacks continue, Patterson realizes that they are dealing with two cunning and ferocious man-eating lions, who become known as The Ghost and The Darkness. Determined to protect his crew, Patterson calls upon the expertise of experienced hunter Charles Remington. However, even Remington finds himself challenged by these bloodthirsty predators.
