Details
Set in Memphis, Tennessee in 1972, Quarry follows the story of Mac Conway, a Vietnam War veteran who, upon returning home, struggles to adjust to civilian life and find employment. Alongside his friend Arthur, they navigate the difficulties faced by veterans of the war, encountering scarce job opportunities and a lack of understanding from society.
However, their lives take an unexpected turn when Conway is approached by a mysterious figure known only as The Broker. The Broker recruits hitmen for dangerous assignments, and he believes that Conway has the potential to excel in this line of work. Initially hesitant, Conway becomes intrigued after discovering that Arthur has already accepted a similar offer.
Embracing his new identity as Quarry, Conway is thrust into a world of violence and danger as he carries out assigned missions. Yet, as he delves deeper into the criminal underworld, he begins to question his choices and grapple with the consequences of his actions.
Quarry offers an intense and suspenseful exploration of the moral complexities faced by war veterans and the impact of their experiences on their psyche. This gritty drama unfolds against the backdrop of 1970s America and showcases the struggles and sacrifices made by those who served in Vietnam.
