Divided into three chapters, Moonlight delves into different periods of Chiron's life. In the first chapter, we meet him as a shy and introverted child, nicknamed Little, who is bullied and struggles to find his place in a tough neighborhood. As he grows into adolescence, Chiron continues to grapple with his identity and sexuality in the face of societal expectations and pressures. Along this journey, he finds solace and guidance from unexpected sources, including a supportive mentor named Juan.
In the final chapter, Chiron confronts the realities of his adulthood and attempts to reconcile his past experiences with his present self. Through poetic storytelling and mesmerizing visuals, Moonlight explores themes of self-discovery, love, and the universal human desire for connection and understanding.
