Details
In Amazon (1990), a widowed and financially struggling Finnish businessman named Kari decides to take his two teenage daughters on a journey to Brazil. While in Brazil, Kari meets a bush pilot who introduces him to the potentially lucrative world of gold mining in the lush jungles of the Amazon. However, as Kari becomes more involved in the dangerous and destructive industry, he is confronted by a local woman who is both beautiful and educated. She warns him about the devastating impact that gold mining can have on the delicate ecosystem of the rainforest.
As Kari is faced with a moral dilemma between his financial needs and the preservation of the environment, he must navigate the complexities of his situation while also grappling with the consequences of his decisions. Amazon explores themes of greed, environmental conservation, and the clash between different cultures and values.
