Little Miss Sunshine

Little Miss Sunshine (2006) takes viewers on a hilarious and heartwarming journey with the dysfunctional Hoover family as they embark on a road trip to support their seven-year-old daughter, Olive, in the finals of the Little Miss Sunshine pageant in Redondo Beach, California. The family consists of Sheryl Hoover, who brings her suicidal brother Frank into their home; Richard Hoover, a self-help salesman struggling to find success; Dwayne Hoover, their son who has taken a vow of silence and dreams of becoming a jet pilot; and Edwin, Sheryl's heroin-addicted father who was recently kicked out of a care facility.

As the family piles into their old Volkswagen Type 2 (Kombi), tensions run high and hilarity ensues. Each member of the family is dealing with their unique struggles and personal issues, but they come together to support Olive and make this dream competition a reality. Along the way, they encounter a series of hilarious and unexpected obstacles, testing their resilience and forcing them to confront their own insecurities.
