Love Don't Cost a Thing (2003) is a coming-of-age romantic comedy film that tells the story of Alvin Johnson (played by Nick Cannon), a high school nerd who dreams of fitting in with the cool kids. In order to gain popularity, Alvin devises a plan to hire Paris Morgan (played by Christina Milian), the most popular cheerleader in school, to pose as his fake girlfriend.

Alvin, who is a brilliant mechanic, strikes a deal with Paris where he offers to fix her mother's car in exchange for her pretending to be his girlfriend. As their charade unfolds, Alvin begins to transform from a socially awkward outcast to a cool, confident young man.

However, as Alvin starts gaining popularity and catching the attention of other girls, his relationship with Paris becomes complicated. As they navigate the complex dynamics of high school popularity and peer pressure, they must confront their own insecurities and decide what is truly important to them.
