In the futuristic world of Mech Cadets, set fifty years in the future, Earth is recovering from a devastating attack by an alien species. The storyline centers around Stanford Yu, a teenager who works as a janitor at the prestigious Sky Corps Military Academy. However, Stanford has always harbored a dream of becoming a Robo Mech pilot and serving as a defender of Earth.
Despite his lowly status, Stanford's life takes an unexpected turn when he is chosen by the Robo Mech, a giant robot built to combat alien threats.
