Details
In the movie Mimic (1997), Manhattan is plagued by a deadly disease spread by cockroaches, which is causing the deaths of children. In an attempt to combat this epidemic, Dr. Susan Tyler, an entomologist, genetically engineers a new breed of insect that secretes a fluid to kill the roaches. This new breed was designed to die after a single generation, ensuring that their effects are temporary.
However, three years later, Susan discovers that the species she created has not only survived but has also evolved into a terrifying monster capable of mimicking human form. These creatures roam the city's subways and dark corners, preying on unsuspecting victims. With the help of her husband, Dr. Peter Mann, and a police officer, Leonard, Susan embarks on a desperate mission to put an end to the nightmare she unintentionally created.
