One for the Money

(2012)

In the movie One for the Money (2012), Stephanie Plum, a Jersey girl, finds herself broke and in dire need of a job after losing her previous employment. Fortunately, her cousin, a bail bondsman, offers her a position as a skip tracer in his office. Reluctantly, Stephanie takes on the job, even though she has no experience in the field.

Her first assignment is to track down Joe Morelli, a man she was intimately involved with in the past. However, when Stephanie encounters him, she becomes overwhelmed and he manages to escape. Enter Ranger, another bounty hunter who takes Stephanie under his wing and attempts to teach her the ropes. With his guidance, Stephanie eventually locates Morelli again, who claims innocence in a crime he is accused of and is determined to prove it.

As Stephanie starts to believe Morelli, she decides to help him by investigating the person who can provide crucial evidence to clear his name. However, Stephanie's actions put her in danger, and it is Morelli who comes to her rescue. In her quest for the truth, Stephanie encounters individuals who could potentially prove Morelli's innocence, but unfortunately, they meet untimely ends or face vicious attacks soon after their meetings.

One for the Money is a thrilling comedy-drama that follows Stephanie Plum's journey from an inexperienced skip tracer to an unlikely ally of a man she once knew intimately, as they work together to uncover the truth and clear his name.
