At the Wallace Farm for Wayward Youth, located in an arid and desolate valley, only remnants of buildings remain. Kendal, a seventeen-year-old girl, can barely remember the valley's once lush and fertile state. For the past ten years, the region has suffered from a severe drought, causing society to crumble. Kendal, along with a few remaining survivors, struggle to survive and yearn for a way out.
Their situation worsens when a water baron greedily stakes claim to the meager underground water supply that remains.
