The Wire is a gripping crime drama series that delves into the gritty realities of Baltimore's inner-city drug scene. The story kicks off when D'Angelo Barksdale, a mid-level drug dealer, manages to beat a murder charge. This catches the attention of Detective James McNulty, who is then assigned to lead a combined homicide and narcotics team with the singular focus of bringing down Avon Barksdale, D'Angelo's uncle and the notorious drug kingpin of the city.
