Their Finest

Their Finest is a film set in the midst of the London Blitz in World War II. Catrin Cole, a young woman, is recruited by the British Ministry of Information to write scripts for propaganda films that will resonate with the public. However, the challenge lies in creating films that the public will actually watch and appreciate, without scoffing at them.

As part of her new role, Cole investigates the story of two young women who supposedly piloted a boat during the Dunkirk Evacuation. Although she discovers that this story is a misapprehension, she sees the potential in using it as the basis for a fictional film that could have broad appeal. Cole, along with her new colleagues including Tom Buckley, works tirelessly to write the script.

Throughout the film, veteran actor Ambrose Hilliard also plays a crucial role. As a once-prominent leading man, he faces the reality that his days in the limelight are over. However, he puts aside his pride and joins the project, embracing a supporting role.
