In This Old Machine (2017), Vint finds himself trapped in a troubled marriage. Hoping to repair their relationship, he embarks on a road trip with his wife, only for their plans to take a dark turn. They are both abducted, leaving Vint for dead and his wife mysteriously missing.
Months later, Vint wakes up from a coma and returns home, determined to rebuild his life. His young sister-in-law, Mia, moves in to take care of him during his recovery. As time goes by, new evidence emerges regarding his wife's disappearance, despite authorities having given up on the case.
