In the movie Santa Switch (2013), Dan Ryebeck is facing unemployment and struggling to provide a memorable Christmas for his two children, Sally and Joe. His wife Linda is fed up with his constant pursuit of new business ideas and files for divorce. Determined to win his family back, Dan auditions for a mall Santa job but quickly loses his cool and blames the holiday for his troubles. To his surprise, the real Kris Kringle pays him a visit and decides to take a vacation, leaving Dan in charge as the new Santa Claus. Kris sends his elf assistant Eddie to guide Dan and teach him about the true meaning of Christmas.
